A-LEVEL UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS MATCHER

A-Level University Requirements Matcher

Enter your subjects and predicted grades to compare them with the published requirements of listed university programmes. This is a comparison with published numbers, not a prediction of admission. Anything we could not verify is marked "not verified".

Everything you type is calculated in your browser only. Nothing is sent or stored, and no email address or contact details are needed.

Click a field to see suggestions. If your subject is not listed, just type it. The subject name does not affect the calculation. A subject not on the list is treated as "other" and is not matched against any requirement.

Narrow the list (optional)

Programmes listed: 14(14 universities)。It does not estimate the chance of admission or label universities safety, target or reach. It only compares your grades with published numbers. Records whose official page could not be opened are never used for a "meets" verdict.

How the comparison works and what it assumes

Each listed programme's A-Level requirement (for example A*A*A) is compared with your predicted grades. Your grades are sorted from highest to lowest and tested against each position; if all are at or above, it shows "appears to meet". Where a subject is named, that subject's grade is also checked separately.

Every record carries a source URL, entry year, last-checked date and how it was read. Anything not published, or not verified by Petra, is shown as "not verified", never guessed. Records whose official page could not be opened are shown for reference only. The list covers only some programmes and is growing.

Reading your result

"Appears to meet the published minimum" means your numbers satisfy the listed figures. It does not mean an offer. UK universities may also use admissions tests (such as the TMUA or STEP), interviews and submitted work.

If you are below a requirement, the university may still consider you individually. Always confirm on the university's official page.

What this tool cannot tell you

  • It does not estimate admission chances or acceptance rates, and it does not label universities safety, target or reach.
  • Admissions tests, interviews and personal statements are not compared; they are shown only where the requirement lists them.
  • Some universities' typical offers differ from their minimums. Read each record's note.
  • Only some programmes are listed. A programme being absent does not mean it has no requirement.

Frequently asked questions

Questions we are often asked about reading the result.

If it says A*A*A, do I need that in every subject?

It means the combination across your three subjects. A*A*A is two A*s and an A, in any order. Where a subject is required, it is shown separately.

It says my predicted grades are below the requirement.

That does not decide whether you can apply. Some universities accept lower predictions or consider individual circumstances. Check the official page and talk to your school's counsellor.

Do I have to enter Further Mathematics?

Not if you do not take it. Where a university asks for it only "if available", a student who does not take it is shown as not applicable.
