Petra Tutors was started by two university students in Japan.

Riku co-founded Petra while studying at Keio University, and now also studies at the University of Amsterdam. He's involved in shaping how the service works and how families and tutors interact with it.

Yutaka co-founded Petra while studying at Keio University, and is involved in operating and developing Petra as a tutoring service.
Riku and Yutaka started Petra Education as university students in Japan, before the core team later moved to the Netherlands. Petra grew out of wanting tutoring to feel matched, transparent and looked after, rather than something a family has to coordinate entirely alone. The team is based in the Netherlands, while tutoring itself is centred in Japan.
