SAFETY & QUALITY

A learning environment
you can trust,
built with care.

From tutor selection and lesson oversight to communication with parents, our approach is designed to help your child learn with confidence.

Our approach to safeguarding

As a service entrusted with your child, we value learning outcomes and a relationship in which they can continue comfortably and confidently.

OUR STANDARDS

Four safety standards
at Petra Tutors

Our team checks tutor suitability, records lesson progress and responds to concerns, rather than relying on the tutor alone. This helps parents understand how things are going.

Tutor screening

We review each tutor's qualifications, teaching experience, subject knowledge and suitability before introducing them to students.

Lesson oversight

Tutors share lesson content and progress with us, and we adjust the learning plan where needed.

Support for parents

Concerns and requests are handled by our team as well as the tutor.

Online and in person

For both online and in-person lessons, we carry out pre-start checks, keep communication channels clear and consider the safety of the lesson location.

TUTOR CHECK

Every tutor is checked
carefully before we introduce them.

We consider a tutor's education and English ability alongside how they work with children, explain ideas and communicate with parents.

  • Reviewing teaching experience, subjects and suitable age groups
  • Reviewing English ability, clarity when explaining in Japanese and learning support skills
  • Considering your child's personality when matching tutors
  • Checking how the first lesson went and adjusting if needed
  • Looking for clear communication, punctuality and careful reporting

LESSON MANAGEMENT

Our team also supports
each lesson.

We keep a clear record of lesson content, progress and tasks, and share relevant information with you.

VISIBLE PROGRESS

What was covered,
and what comes next.

Using the tutor's post-lesson report, we set out what your child understood, what still needs work and what to cover next. Our team can also review this when needed, so you can follow their progress.

Sharing lesson content

A clear summary of what the lesson covered, what your child can now do and what to work on next.

Adjusting the learning plan

We revisit the approach based on the goal, whether the focus is EIKEN, catching up with schoolwork or international school support.

Picking up concerns early

We look into concerns such as difficulty concentrating, homework that feels too hard or a tutor match that is not working.

PARENT SUPPORT

When something worries you,
you won't be left
to deal with it alone.

Contact us about communication with the tutor, lesson content, scheduling or the learning plan. The Petra Tutors team will look into the issue and respond.

What you can raise with us

Please get in touch even if you only have a sense that something is not quite right. We will look into it and, where appropriate, speak with the tutor or adjust the approach.
