About this tutor

Mizuki studies International Business and Economics in the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Sophia University. She teaches English and maths to primary and middle-school students, up to about Grade 8 (the second year of junior high school in Japan), and prefers working with elementary and middle-school students. As her experience grows she may also support higher-level English.

She lived in the United States for about ten years, and her English is at an advanced level (roughly CEFR C1). She is most comfortable teaching mainly in English. Her Japanese is at about JLPT N3 to N2 level.

She has experience as a babysitter for children aged about 5 and 7, in both English and Japanese. She has also worked as an assistant in a ballet class for young children, so she has supported and taught younger children as well.

She has taken the SAT herself (self-reported total 1390: English 660, Maths 730) and is comfortable supporting SAT practice. She has not taken EIKEN, but can review the relevant level and materials to support a student preparing for it.

What ages does Mizuki teach?

Can Mizuki help with EIKEN?

Mizuki has not taken EIKEN herself. She is willing to review the relevant level, test format and materials in order to support a student, so EIKEN support is possible, with preparation around the student's level. Petra will talk through whether she or another tutor suits the grade you are aiming for.
