One-to-one tutoring in English, mathematics and international school subjects. We match each student with a suitable tutor and agree a learning plan.

Why Choose Petra Tutors?

  • One-to-one tutor matching

We ask about the student's goals, level and preferences, then suggest a suitable tutor. Matching and changing tutor are included in the price.

  • Clear pricing

Online lessons are €49 and in-person lessons are €59, each for 60 minutes. The first lesson is free and there is no registration fee.

  • Regular progress updates

Parents receive updates on what was covered and what comes next. Petra is a Japanese-founded company, and our Netherlands service builds on our experience of one-to-one tutoring in Japan.

How It Works

Learning that fits the student.

From the first conversation to regular progress updates.

  1. 01. Understand the goal

We ask about the student's level and goals, and the format and days that suit your family.

  2. 02. Start with a matched tutor

We suggest a tutor based on the student's goals, learning style and language needs.

  3. 03. Review progress

After lessons we share what was covered and agree the next steps.

Tutors

How we match tutors.

We consider subject experience, teaching style and how well a tutor suits the student, not only language ability.

Subject and goal

English, mathematics and exam preparation

We look for tutors with experience in the subject and level you need: English, mathematics, international school subjects, or exams such as IELTS and TOEFL.

e.g. English, mathematics, exam preparation

Teaching style

Pace, structure and personality

Some students prefer a patient pace and more conversation. Others work better with a more structured, fast-moving lesson. We take this into account.

e.g. pace, structure, personality

Language, format, location and times

Lessons mainly in English or with some Japanese, online or in person, with a tutor whose days and times suit your family.
